MCEA assists clients who have recently gone to the emergency room or doctor's office and cannot afford to fill their prescriptions or when there has been a financial crisis in the family. MCEA secures the best price for the medication and sends a voucher with the client to the pharmacy so the prescription is filled as quickly as possible. Clients must show inability to pay and that they have exhausted all other forms of assistance such as Medicaid.
