When Julia’s father was laid off his job of seven years the family experienced the foreclosure of their home. A few months following the foreclosure they were victims of a fraud scam in which they lost thousands of dollars they had deposited on a new dwelling.

Well-meaning friends welcomed them into their home only to find they were in violation of strict community association rules that did not allow a second family to share the space.

When the family came to MCEA morale was low. They had exhausted most of their funds to stay in a local motel, purchase bare necessities, and buy gasoline for endless job searches.

We were able to immediately assist with food, clothing, and fuel. Their MCEA case manager worked with them to ensure eligibility for their new apartment. Julia’s father is working, and she is in school. The case manager is assisting Julia’s mom to find employment and developing a career path. The family is well on their way to stability and self sufficiency.

Because generous donors just like you shared from the HEART, Julia’s family and many others receive the HOPE and HELP they

desperately need.
